Correa, Vivian passed April 14th at the age of 69. Daughter of Dora Jean-Charles and the late Ricardo Correa. Loving mother of Judy Diaz Santiago and Pedro Diaz, Jr. Grandmother of Shalimar and Juviana Diaz, Nelson O. Lara and Jonalys V. Peña. Great grandmother of Jaylianni Cruz and Neveah & Anthony Lara.
Vivian Correa was Born on August 1st, 1953 in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
After migrating to the U.S, Her family relocated to Dixwell St. in Boston's Roxbury Area.
She studied cosmetology and became a Cosmetologist professor at Wilfred's Academy as well as Savina's Beauty Academy.
She also attended Roxbury Community College and graduated with a Business Degree.
Later moving to Bromley Heath in 1981, she was famously known as the best "Icey Lady". A magnificent hair dresser, who also knew how to feed the masses as well. Whether it was fried chicken, "Arroz con guandules" (Rice & Chicken Peas), or her Coconut Icey's made by hand. Vivian always made sure her efforts & impact were made within the community. Being a lover of the family gatherings & events for kids, Vivian was a staple not only within the community, but with her family as well, helping raising her siblings. She always took on the role as the Older Stern sister, having no problem with telling you how it is or how it should be, and you would always like to listen to her words of wisdom & foresight.
Visiting hours are WEDNESDAY at Mann Rodgers Funeral Home, 44 Perkins Street, Jamaica Plain from 5-8 pm. Family & friends invited
