THOMAS YERKES Death notice

Thomas Yerkes of Concord, New Hampshire passed away on December 21, 2021, surrounded by his family.

Tom was born on August 31, 1946. He grew up in East Braintree, Massachusetts and was a 1965 graduate of Braintree High School. He was employed in Massachusetts as an Outside Machinist at General Dynamics in Quincy, Boston Shipyard in East Boston, and Ingalls Shipyard in Pascagoula Mississippi. In his later years, he worked for many car dealerships as an automotive detailer. He was an avid sports lover and spent many years on fields, in arenas and theaters cheering on his children and grandchildren as well as the New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox and Celtics. Tom loved going to beaches on Cape Cod as well as vacationing in Hollywood Beach, Florida. Some of his best memories were fishing with his grandchildren and son in-laws. He loved conversing with people and was a remarkable storyteller.

Tom was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Mary Yerkes, Braintree MA his brother Harold Yerkes, his sister Nancy Lehtonen and her husband Buzz, Abington MA and his long-time companion Mary Ann Harold, Sandwich MA. He is survived by his daughters Susan Pedro and her husband Ron, Long Island ME, Mary Ann Vazquez and her husband Alex, Hooksett NH, Cheryl Murray and her husband Ken, Manchester NH, his son Thomas Yerkes Jr, Concord NH and his grandchildren, Katie, Michael, Jonathan, Jakob, Hunter, Ryan, Mikayla, Lily, Andrew, Jack and Gus, his sister-in law Nancy Yerkes and many nieces and nephews.

Tom’s family will have a celebration of life gathering in the upcoming summer. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105
