ROGER MORGAN Death notice

MORGAN, Roger T.

Roger Thomas Morgan, age 86, of Boston, Mass. died peacefully in his sleep on February 16 at the Linden at Dedham Retirement Community.

Roger is predeceased by his mother Ellen E. (Greaney) Morgan, and father, Thomas Patrick Morgan; a brother, John Joseph, and sister, Mary Egan. He is also predeceased by his sister-in-law, Patricia Morgan of Jamaica Plain.

Roger is survived by his 10 ten nieces and nephews, and their spouses: Dr. John and Stephanie Morgan of Wellesley; Mary Morgan of Jamaica Plain; Virginia and Timothy Clifford of Jamaica Plain; Maureen and Kevin Coyle of Whitinsville; Thomas and Jackie Morgan of Milton; Susanna and Joseph Klempa of Exeter, N.H.; Kathy Morgan and Declan Egan of County Mayo, Ireland; Patricia and Anthony Catalano of Bellingham; Leslie Morgan of West Roxbury, and Christopher and Betsy Morgan of Marshfield.

A veteran of the U.S. Army, Roger was a proud and dedicated full-time employee of The City of Boston’s Public Works Department for many years, and also worked part-time shifts as a security officer. After his retirement, Roger was employed by The Home Depot in West Roxbury, where he received a “Most Reliable” award recognizing his exceptional work ethic, punctuality and time management on the job. Remarkably, Roger worked until the age of 84, officially ending his working career with The Home Depot in 2019.

Roger enjoyed taking trips to Maine, and was an avid hunter and shooter. Another favorite pastime of Roger’s was researching his lineage and family tree, and he was thrilled to be able to travel to Ireland to visit with his relatives.

The Morgan children have many fond memories of their uncle living with them in their Jamaica Plain home, and in later years, Roger remained a constant presence at family get-togethers and holiday celebrations.

The Morgan family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the entire staff at the Linden at Dedham Retirement for their excellent care of Roger during his residence there.
