GREDLER, Marta A. of Brookline

 

Marta Gredler, 75 of Boston, MA passed away on February 20, in Brookline. Marta was born January 30th 1950 in New Haven, CT, the daughter of Rhea and Jack Beckman.

Marta graduated from Clark University and specialized in early childhood education and moved to Boston. From there she married Bernie Gredler and they had a son Ben they raised in Jamaica Plain and later Marta moved out to Brookline for her son to attend school there. Before moving back in on her own to Jamaica Plain for another 20 year run.

Marta was an active member in the non-profit community in Boston focused on her passion helping young children in their development.  Later in her career she worked with Boston Public Schools with a similar focus.

Marta loved nothing more than to walk around the Jamaica Pond, baking anything sweet, or attending an art exhibit or musical performance (and of course be on the sidelines cheering on her son in Baseball, Soccer, Basketball, Lacrosse, and Football).

Despite her incredible work ethic that kept her at the office long hours, nothing got in the way of supporting her son who was her pride and joy.

Remaining to cherish Marta’s memory are her son Ben Gredler and his wife Brenna, their sons Samson and Charlie, along with her sister Marilyn.

A private ceremony will be held at Mann Rodgers Funeral Home Monday February 24th for close friends and family.
