KATHERINE HANIFIN Obituary

HANIFIN, Katherine "Katie" (Murphy) of Jamaica Plain, passed peacefully on October 9, 2025 surrounded by the love of her family.  Daughter of the late Thomas & Catherine (Casey) Murphy.  Beloved widow of the late James M. Hanifin.  Loving mother of James Hanifin and his wife Cindy, Kathleen and her husband Edward Davis,  John Hanifin,  MaryEllen Gilmore, Nancy and her husband Paul Devlin, Thomas Hanifin and his wife Kelly and Robert Hanifin and his wife Tina.  Also survived by 22 grandchildren and 12 Great grandchildren.

Sister of Anne Davis of Cambridge, Mary Christian of Foxboro, Patricia Giddings of West Roxbury and the late Thomas Murphy, Ellen Mahony and Margie Christenson. 

Visiting hours in The Robert J. Lawler & Crosby Funeral Home, 1803 Centre St. West Roxbury on Thursday, October 16, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St Theresa of Avila Church, 2078 Centre Street, W. Roxbury, MA  on Friday, October 17, at 10:00 am, with a burial at St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury.
