Joanne Catherine (MacAulay) Trowbridge of Boston, MA/Vero Beach, FL passed away on May 28, 2021. Beloved wife of the late Robert Trowbridge. Daughter of the late John and Anne (Ferguson) MacAulay of Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.Joanne is survived by her loving best friend, Jack Alconada of Jacksonville/ Vero Beach, FL and her dear sister, Thelma Gleason of Walpole, MA. She leaves her son, John Trowbridge and his wife Kate, along with her grandchildren Rita Lynne, Brian and Virginia Trowbridge, all of Oakland, CA. She also leaves her daughter, Thelma Trickler, her grandchildren Sarah, Donald and David Trickler, along with her cherished great-granddaughters, Cayden Joanna and Natalie Brooklynn Almeder, all of Marshfield, MA.
Joanne will truly be remembered for her contagious laughter and her warm smile. Her positive attitude and outlook on life gave strength to so many around her. Her chicken soup warmed countless hearts. Everyone looked forward to her famous lemon squares, so much so that “Lemon Squares” became her nickname.She loved to dance. She and Jack were known for racing to the dance floor for the first dance of the night at the VFW. She loved to sew, cook, bake and laugh. She always had a recipe to share and a joke to tell.Joanne was kind and generous of heart. She loved helping people through her volunteer work at Boylston Congregational Church, The Source in Vero Beach and Meals on Wheels.She loved spending time with dear family and treasured friends. She always made it a point to keep in touch with everyone that she cared about. She will be missed by Joseph Thibeau of Hyde Park, whom Joanne considered to be another son.
Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy. Nothing brought her more happiness than her role as “Ma”, “Nana”, “Grandma” and “G.G Ma.” She will be missed greatly and remembered adoringly by so many.

Visiting hours will be on Wednesday June 9th from 3-7pm at Mann Rodgers Funeral Home, 44 Perkins Street, Jamaica Plain. Family and friend are invited.
A Prayer Service will take place on Thursday June 10th at 10 'clock at the funeral home. Interment at Bourne National Cemetery, Bourne, ma at 1:30pm. Masks are required at the cemetery.
