Irma Ayala Obituary

In Loving Memory of Irma Ayala

It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of Irma Ayala, who passed away at the age of 90.

Born on October 4, 1935, in Santurce, Puerto Rico, she spent most of her life in Boston, Massachusetts, where she built a life centered on family, friendship, and community. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose warmth, kindness, and joyful spirit touched everyone who knew her.

She was known for her fun-loving personality, infectious laughter, and love of life. She never met a stranger and had a remarkable ability to make others feel welcomed and valued. She cherished her community and was blessed with many lifelong friends who loved and admired her.

Throughout her working years, she proudly served the City of Boston as a School Crossing Guard, helping to keep generations of children safe. She later continued her career at Boston City Hospital, where she dedicated several years of service with compassion and commitment.

Above all else, her greatest joy was her family. She was the proud mother of seven children. She was preceded in death by three of her beloved children: Luis Ayala, Angel Ayala, and Maria Ayala.

She is lovingly survived by her children: Gloria Ayala Gonzalez, Iris Diaz, Perfecto Ayala, and Carmen Ayala. She also leaves behind a beautiful legacy through her 26 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense pride and happiness to her life.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched with her generous heart, bright smile, and unwavering love. Though she will be deeply missed, her laughter, strength, and love will continue to inspire those who knew her.

May she rest in eternal peace, reunited with those who went before her, and forever remembered by the family and friends who loved her so dearly.

Visiting hours will be held Thursday, July 30th from 4-8pm at Mann and Rodgers Funeral Home, 44 Perkins St, Jamaica Plain MA 02130
