WILLIAMS, Charlotte Ann of Dedham, passed Feb. 28th. Daughter of the late Clarence & Dorothy (Whiteley) Howard. Beloved wife of the late Robert G. Williams. Father of David & his wife Alicia, Paul & his wife Jody and Steven & his partner Theresa. Also survived by grandchildren Kristen, Jason, Jonathan and James and 5 great grandchildren.
She was born in Blue Hill, ME , where she lived for the first five years of her life. Her family briefly moved to Portsmouth New Hampshire before relocating to Boston, MA. After finishing high school she met her future husband Robert G. Williams at a DeMolay dance in 1959. They would marry and shared three sons and 61 years of marriage prior to Roberts departure in October 2021.
She loved all things Maine and would refer to it simply as God’s country. She often talked about her childhood memories and family growing up in Blue Hill, ME. She took great pride in her family’s roots and rich history in the region. She enjoyed good food, lobsters and veil from the Venice (that she would often take home in her own Tupperware she had stored in her purse) She enjoyed sweets like eclairs, Fudge, black raspberry ice cream and blueberry pie a La mode. She frequently went to yards sales and was a collector of many things. Some she would keep on display and some she would gift to her sons and grandchildren. She enjoyed knitting and crochet, and would often have a new blanket and balls of yarn by her side. She dressed with a style as unique as her sense of humor and personality. Most typically a custom handmade muumuu ensemble with a matching scrunchie and extravagant earrings to go with.
She will be missed dearly but we take comfort knowing that she is finally at peace, resting with our Lord.
A Celebration of Life will take place at Mann Rodgers Funeral Home, 44 Perkins Street, Jamaica Plain on SATURDAY, March 11th from 4-7pm. Relatives and friends invited.
