ANNE T. GUIMOND

GUIMOND, ANNE (“NANCY”) – Age 92, of Jamaica Plain, MA passed away on September 6, 2023.

Anne, better known as Nancy to family and friends, is survived by her daughter, Lisa Guimond Faretra, and her son-in-law Thomas Faretra of Jamaica Plain, her brother Kevin Morrison (LuLu Morrison) of West Roxbury, her sister-in-law Elaine Morrison of Marlborough, CT and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Leon Guimond, her daughter, Maureen Guimond, her brother, Charlie Morrison and her brother, Francis Morrison, and her niece, Debby Morrison.

Nancy grew up in Brookline, MA and graduated from St. Mary’s High School. She held several jobs including at the Davis ad agency and John Hancock before she married and moved to Providence, RI. After the untimely death of her husband at age 30, she returned to Brookline. Upon her return, she began working for the iconic Anthony’s Pier 4 restaurant in Boston. Following that, Nancy worked for the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in the accounting department for 30 years, where she developed life-long friendships. After retiring from Brigham and Women’s hospital, she generously gave her time volunteering at Mt. Pleasant Home in Jamaica Plain. She also worked at the Mansion House in Jamaica Plain, providing tours of condos to prospective tenants. Nancy was a kind, friendly, gracious and ever stylish woman who was well-loved by family, friends, neighbors and all who knew her. She had a green thumb and loved caring for her house plants and flower cart. She enjoyed reading, shopping, visits to the MFA, trips to orchards to pick peaches and apples, and playing cards. Nancy will be dearly missed by all.

Family and friends are invited to a Funeral Mass on Sat. October 14, 2023 at 9:30am in the chapel of St. Theresa’s Church, 2078 Centre St., West Roxbury, MA with a reception afterward in the church Pavillion.

Interment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, West Roxbury following the reception.
