GEORGE C. STAMATOS

George C. Stamatos of Jamaica Plain passed away on September 23, 2017, at the age of 88, beloved husband of Niki for 52 years; loving father of Christos G. (Chris) and his wife Marybeth and Paul G. and his wife Catherine. Grandfather of Nikayla, Colette, George and Vasilios. He is survived by his brothers James C. Stamatos, Sam C. and his wife Xeni Stamatos; and his sisters Vasiliki Stamatopoulou, Theodora and her husband Niko Politsopoulos, and Georgia and her husband Fotis Stefanopoulos.  He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins in Massachusetts and abroad. Born in Pyrgos, Ilias Greece, George immigrated to Boston in 1951 after serving in the Greek military. He lived briefly in Framingham before moving to the Boston where he worked in various businesses before settling down in Jamaica Plain in 1965. Friend to and supporter of many people who will miss his generous heart. 

Funeral from the Mann & Rodgers Funeral Home, 44 Perkins St (corner of So. Huntington Ave) Jamaica Plain on Thursday at 11am followed by a Funeral Service at The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral of New England, 514 Parker St (corner of Ruggles St) Boston, MA at 12 noon.  Relatives and friends invited.  Visiting Hours at the Mann & Rodgers Funeral Home (address above) on Wednesday 4-8pm.  Interment Forest Hills Cemetery.  Guestbook@mannandrodgers.com
